Multi sports pitch

Sports

Ideally every sport should be played on a sport-specific artificial grass surface, but in case a facility needs to accommodate multiple applications, a multi sport product is often the most suitable choice.

Multi sports pitches are popular with schools and other educational establishments, because a multi purpose sports pitch has cost and space saving benefits by having just one surface for multi sports instead of needing a separate facility for each sport.

A multi sport artificial turf pitch is a safe and practical choice. It replaces dusty, sandy or muddy grass pitches and prevents injuries caused by falling on a hard surface such as a traditional paved playground. As specialists in sports surfaces, GreenFields is able to design and install high quality artificial turf that is suitable for a variety of sports to be played on.

3G multi sports pitch

Filled performance systems are well known in the industry as 3G-systems. GreenFields offers a wide range of 3G turf products for multi sports purposes, with sand & performance infill only, and with an elastic layer or shock pad, to build the perfect system for each application.

Sand dressed multi sports pitch

Our sand dressed multi sports product, GreenFields PE, is based on advanced XT polymer technology providing enhanced durability and an extremely long lifetime. Constructed with a pile height of either 20 or 24mm of texturised tape yarns.

GreenFields PE

ADVANCED XT POLYMER TECHNOLOGY FOR A STRONG, LONG LASTING SURFACE SOLUTION

GreenFields PE can be used for multiple sports because of its short pile structure and high resilience, which makes it a multi-functional, cost effective surface solution for various clubs and communities.

Non-Filled multi sports pitch

The next generation of artificial turf with a simplified system design; the non-filled pitches have a performance thatch layer of artificial turf fibres which replaces the performance infill. These systems are especially suitable for multi-use, community pitches and for soccer.

ECO-range

Sustainable synthetic turf

On a global scale, society is becoming more aware of the exhaustion of our planet. An expanding lack of space asks for optimum use of available land. Increasing water shortage asks for solutions to save water resources. Synthetic turf can provide a sustainable path towards optimising space and saving water resources.

The benefits of exercise are well known and therefore it is important to enable people to enjoy sports and play, strengthening their mental and physical health. Synthetic turf for sports provides millions of people worldwide the opportunity to exercise and enjoy sport at the best of their abilities, regardless of available space, local climate, and water availability.

With the new ECO-range, GreenFields covers a full range of synthetic turf systems designed for durable performance and an optimized sustainability classification.

For clubs and municipalities that want to opt for a durable performing sports pitch that is as eco-friendly as possible, GreenFields has the solution.

GreenFields ECO-range

The ECO-range consists of synthetic turf systems that all classify as having a low impact on the environment. The classification for each system is expressed with an ECO-label, designed to cover the most important aspects for a sustainable system namely: the material footprint, the carbon footprint, and the end-of-life recycling potential.

CERTIFIED MULTI-USE SYSTEMS

GreenFields has several systems in her portfolio which are certified by both FIFA and FIH or WR as quality systems. These multi-use products can be used for official matches.

GreenFields is able to design and install a range of MUGAs (Multi-Use Games Areas) to meet your individual requirements. Popular with educational establishments, a MUGA surface enables a variety of sports to be played on it and has cost and space saving benefits by having just one pitch for multi-sports instead of one for each sport.

MUGA TYPES

Different types of MUGAs are selected depending on the sport you wish to play on them, our specialist installation team have constructed all types of MUGAs across the country. Sport England have classified multi use games areas into the numerical types below:

TYPE 1

These are open textured porous macadam areas used for ball rebound sports designed with tennis as the priority sport. Mini-tennis, netball and basketball are also possible along with wheelchair sports on this type of MUGA playground.

TYPE 2

These are open textured porous macadam areas used for ball rebound sports with netball as the priority. Tennis, mini-tennis and basketball are also possible along with wheelchair sports on this type of MUGA court.

TYPE 3

Polymeric surfaces over macadam base areas which are widely used for both education and leisure facilities and can be installed in a variety of colours. Netball is the priority sport with tennis, mini-tennis, basketball and wheelchair sports also possible.

TYPE 4

Polymeric surfaces over macadam base areas which are widely used for both education and leisure facilities and can be installed in a variety of colours. These surfaces are designed for recreational football and basketball but are not recommended for tennis or netball due to the greater shock absorbency and lower surface friction.

TYPE 5

3G surfaces with a short pile height and sand dressed surfaces can also be utilised as a MUGA football pitch and a MUGA hockey pitch and a sand dressed surface also enables Tennis to be played on it.

MUGA COSTS

MUGA sports pitch construction costs are specific to each project and can depend on many elements. We can talk you through these elements and give you a quote depending on your requirements.
